On some vehicles3, you have to choose the option of prepositioning when you buy your vehicle to be able to equip yourself with the wheel.

Which wheels to choose after a puncture?

Tyre technology is constantly innovating and providing solutions to offset the inconvenience of a flat tyre. There are now tyres equipped with RUNFLAT and SEALANT technologies that provide safety and convenience for drivers. You can find more information at your point of sale.

Why a mini wheel rather than a regular wheel?

Less wide than a standard wheel, the mini wheel allows you to maintain the load capacity of your boot. Lighter, it also contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions. It is also easier to handle when fitting. On the other hand, you should limit yourself to a maximum speed of 80 km/h when driving with a mini wheel for a maximum distance of 80 km.

Did you know? 

  • In order to be equipped with a spare wheel, your car needs to be fitted with a predisposition that allows for the optimal placement of the wheel. On some vehicles2, this is an option that you must choose to be able to fit the wheel when ordering your new vehicle.
  • If you have not taken the option, your puncture-proof kit is always there to help you. You can also count on Opel Roadside Assistance4 to help you out. Our maintenance and extended warranty contracts cover roadside assistance in case of a flat tyre4.

 

Electric and hybrid vehicles cannot be fitted with a spare wheel because of the size of the battery. The puncture-proof kit and Opel Roadside Assistance4 are still alternative solutions.
