Manufacturing defects and rust perforation are covered, and Opel sometimes even goes beyond legal warranty obligations. Opel manufacturer's warranty is valid across the whole of the EU and in fifteen other countries or regions.
The warranty is linked to the vehicle and continues to apply if the owner changes.
General warranty for new Opel vehicles
Opel guarantees, that each vehicle is free from defects for a period of two years after first registration of the car. Routine service and replacement of wear & tear parts are not covered by warranty. Detailed terms and conditions of Opel manufacturer's warranty you can find in the Service & Warranty Booklet, which is given to you at the handover of the new Opel.
Warranty against rust perforation
Opel guarantees for a period of 12 years1, that no rust perforation of the bodywork (corrosion from inside to outside) will occur as a result of defective materials or workmanship.
1 5 or 6 years for certain commercial vehicles.
Electric vehicle specific warranty
On top of the warranties mentioned, electric and hybrid vehicles benefit from a 8-year warranty for their traction battery.

In case that you have to claim a warranty repair, go to an Opel Authorised Repairer and present the Service and Warranty Booklet, which contains the international warranty certificate. Warranty work is carried out free of charge by an Opel Authorised Repairer.
