Where can I test drive the Rocks?

The Rocks is on display at selected Opel dealers in xxxxxxx, where you have the opportunity to test drive it. Why not make an appointment now? 

Who is allowed to drive the Rocks in xxxxxxx?

If you have a valid car or motorbike licence, you are allowed to drive the Rocks. Young people over the age of 15 with a driving licence class AM are also allowed to drive the Rocks. Please inform yourself about the valid regulations when driving abroad.

Can I drive my Rocks on the motorway?

No, because the Rocks does not reach the prescribed minimum speed of 60 km/h for driving on motorways.

What insurance is required for the Rocks?

As soon as the vehicle is driven on public roads, an insurance number plate is required. This number plate is valid from 1 March to 28 February (1 year), after which the number plate must be renewed by signing a new insurance contract and replacing the insurance plate on the Rocks-e.

How does the Rocks drive, which gearbox is installed?

The Rocks comes with an easy to use automatic gearbox: Forward, Neutral for parking and Reverse. With the accelerator and brake pedal should be operated the usual way with your right foot. This allows you to concentrate on the traffic and safe driving.

What is the power rating of the Rocks? Why are there two different power ratings?

The Rocks has a rated continuous power of 6kW. This is sufficient to drive the maximum speed of 45 km/h and is also decisive for the fact that the Rocks can be driven in Germany from the age of 15. The maximum power of the Rocks is 9kW, which the Rocks uses to accelerate quickly but safely- so even more driving fun for you!

Does the Rocks have to be inspected regularly?

No, the Rocks is not subject to a general inspection, as the Rocks is officially classified as a light motor vehicle.

What about the warranty for the Rocks and the battery?

The Rocks has a two-year manufacturer's warranty with no mileage limit, and the battery is covered by the warranty for three years and 40,000 km.

How safe is the Rocks?

The Rocks has a sturdy enclosed driver's cabin, which offers more comfort and safety compared to two-wheelers. The seats are equipped with a 3-point seat belt. Due to its structure, the sturdy tubular steel construction provides a safe space for the occupants that can withstand an impact of up to 45 km/h.

The high seating position as well as the large glass area provides a perfect view of the road ahead and the surroundings.

Can a child seat be fitted in the Rocks-e? 

A child seat can easily be fitted in the front passenger seat, as the Rocks is equipped with a full  3-point seat belt. In addition, the large doors and the staggered, forward-facing passenger seat make it easier to secure a child. However, an ISOFIX child-seat mounting is not installed.

Can I drive the Rocks in winter?

Yes, the Rocks offers comfort and protection from wind and rain. Thanks to the closed cabin and electric heating, the interior can be heated in cold weather conditions. Compared to two-wheelers, the Rocks offers more comfort and safety in winter.

Is there a reduction in power and electric range in low outdoor temperatures?

In almost all real driving conditions, there is no reduction in performance. At outside temperatures above -10 °C, there is no limit to the top speed as long as the battery has more than a 35% remaining charge. At ambient temperatures below -10 °C, the maximum speed of the Rocks is limited to 25 km/h if the remaining battery charge is more than 35%. However, there may be a slight reduction in the top speed when the remaining battery charge is low in conjunction with low battery temperatures. For example, if the outside temperature is below 5 °C and the remaining battery charge is between 15% and 20%, the maximum speed of the Rocks is limited to 30 km/h.

Can I use my smartphone to communicate with the Rocks?

Smartphones can be placed securely on the dashboard using the phone holder. A dongle (standard on GS ) allows you to communicate with the Rocks via the MyOpel app.

Can I tow a trailer with the Rocks, e.g. a bicycle trailer?

The Rocks was designed from the beginning to be extremely light and efficient. For this reason, you should not tow anything with your Rocks as this would increase the size and weight and drastically reduce vehicle efficiency.

Does the Rocks come with mobile service? 

Yes, when you buy a new car you get Opel Mobilservice for the entire duration of the manufacturer's warranty (up to two years after initial registration). And it's free of charge. For the time after that (after the expiry of the period of validity), the Mobilservice can be extended as part of every inspection due - for a maximum of one year or until the next inspection is due in accordance with the service and warranty booklet. Depending on which event occurs first.

 

Local markets should provide their own legally approved Mobilservice and warranty copy.
