Night Vision

Step out of the dark age, with Opel's amazing Night Vision1 system. An infrared camera located at the front "sees" people and animals up to 100m ahead using the thermal difference between them and their surroundings, plus their direction of travel, and displays it on the driver information cluster. For even greater safety,  Night Vision coordinates with the Automatic Emergency Braking system to autonomously stop in the event of potential collisions.

Automatic Emergency Braking
The system1 acoustically warns the driver of dangerous  situations ahead. If another car or a pedestrian gets too close, it decelerates or brings the vehicle to a standstill.

Automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection works automatically above 5 km/h and below 140 km/h. From 5 to 30 km/h the deceleration metric to reduce the impact speed of the collision is 0,9 g. From 30 to 140 km/h the system reduces the speed by a maximum of 50 km/h. Above this threshold, the driver needs to brake him/herself to reduce the speed even further.  Operational speed range of automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection depends on the detected obstacle (mobile obstacle: from 5 to  140 km/h; fixed obstacle: from 5 to 80 km/h; pedestrian: from 5 to 60 km/h).  Opel driver assistance systems are intended to support the driver within  the limitations intrinsic to the system. The driver remains responsible
for the driving task

Lane Keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning

Enjoy a greater level of safety and awareness while driving. Lane Keep Assist (LKA)1,2 actively responds to dangerous driving by gently steering2 the vehicle back into the markings. Lane Departure Warning (LDP)3 warns you of having unintentionally left the marked lane.

1 Optional.

2 Hands must remain on the steering wheel during use.

Highway Integration Assist
Highway Integration Assistis an innovative synergy of Grandland's systems, combining Advanced Cruise Control, Stop-and-Go functionality and Lane Keep Assist. It works as a semi-automatic system that helps you integrate into a highway, follow a particular lane, or follow a vehicle ahead. Engaged at the touch of a button, you can retake control from the system any time simply by moving the steering wheel.

1 Optional, requires 8-speed Automatic Transmission.
